Dated On Friday, 23/9/2016 2.30pm at Chai Diam Ma Cafe

Queen Lee is a young adult who committed to the market for arts and crafts in Penang – and even Malaysia. You will definitely know her if you keep an eye on Penang Cafe or Artisan Market. She is the owner of Chai Diam Ma Cafe which located at Lebuh Queen and also the person in charge of Little Penang Street Market.
I suggested to partner with her on the second hand fashion corner since she has a wide network for the Artisan Market in Malaysia. Thus, Jin Ling arranged a meet up with her on last Tuesday (20/9) at 3pm. Unfortunately, her sister was sick and she has totally forgot our date. Thus, we rearranged a meet up on Friday (24/9) at 2.30pm. The location is remained at Chai Diam Ma Cafe.
——Second Hand Fashion Corner
With our proposal, Jin Ling and me explained the brief idea of 'Trace the Thread' to her and our activities in-detailed to Ms Queen. She is a quite friendly person and immediately decided to lend us her helping hand. However, she will be unable to attend our event on the execution day because she have to go for her Little Penang Street Market which also fall on the same date as we set at.
She is quite interested with our idea and even offered us 2 canopies to execute the event with her Street Market. In fact, we are happy with her offer. But, since we accepted PBB Group Berhad's venue sponsorship since very early, we will not going to change. However, we will further discuss with our team members in upcoming group meeting about to carry out roadshow at Little Penang Street Market.
After clear with the details of second hand fashion market corner, she showed us few Artisans who working on the path of sustainable fashion or upcycling creations, come into her mind, such as t.o.t.d, Shop Howard, Kraak Creations and Kuan's Handmade. She will connect them first and get back to us on coming Friday (30/9).
Below is part of the artworks from the Artisan I mentioned above:
——Silk-Screen Printing Workshop
During the conversation, we get to know that Ms Queen is going to learn the silk-screen printing in a short time. As we have included it as one of the activities we want to conduct during our event, I required her to teach us. At the end, she invited us to join the workshop and the time is to be confirmed with her teacher.
Intend to cut down our event budget, she suggested us to borrow the equipment from Art-ed and get the paint from the Hong Leong.
——Help & Suggestion
At the same time, she is willing to borrow us some table, wooden block for exhibition and other props if we needed, but we have to get a lorry to carry them to The Whiteaways Arcade.
For the sponsorship part, she suggested us to rent the stall to the Artisans, instead of based on the percentage of the profit they gained. This is due to she think that the sustainable fashion market in Malaysia is not mature yet which may lead to there is no income for our event.
In addition, she also remind us to take donation from the public and also the stalls of Occupy Beach Street. "Although it is small in amount, it can be a lot at the end", she said. We are graceful to have a meeting with Ms Queen as she pointed out a lots issue that we never think about previously and also give us some useful advice with the support of her experiences in the past.
——Afterward Discussion
I suggested to have a roadshow at Little Penang Street Market. I believes it is a good opportunity allows us to promote our event to different group of people in Penang. Jin Ling and Hui Ying think it is a good idea to carry out. Thus, we decided to bring this requirement to Ms Queen in our next meeting.
